8.1 Plenáris előadás

A MOOC az utóbbi idők leggyakrabban előforduló szakkifejezése az oktatásban. Ez egy mozaikszó, magyarul: „ingyenes on-line szabadegyetem”. A kifejezés egy olyan nyitott oktatási rendszert takar, melyben a résztvevők magas létszámban, regisztrációt követően, kötelezettség nélkül érhetik el a képző intézmények által közzétett tartalmakat. A saját tempóban haladó, interaktív, közösségi tanulási forma az egyén tudásvágyára és önálló tanulási képességeire épít – a hallgató on-line követi az előadásokat, on-line írja meg a teszteket, a kurzus elvégzéséről on-line kap igazolást. Felmerülnek persze olyan kérdések az új keretek között folyó oktatásról, melyek ennek gazdasági, pszichológiai, pedagógiai hatásait vizsgálják. • Ad-e „papírt”? • És az mennyit ér? • Hogy folyik a finanszírozás? • Miért éri meg az intézményeknek? • Hogy ellenőrizhető a megszerzett tudás? • stb. Az a lehetőség, hogy a tanulni vágyó szinte bármilyen tananyaghoz, és bárhonnan hozzájuthat – és az ezáltal megvalósuló zavartalan információcsere – hozzájárulhat egy egyenlőségen alapuló világrendhez. Jól hangzik. Előadásomat annak reményében tartom, hogy évek múlva a tanulás közösségi élmény lesz, motivál és leköt.

MOOC programs as a potential pulpit of the 21st century teacher.

MOOC (Massive Open On-line Course) has become one of the most frequently used terminologies in education. Standing for free open on-line university, the acronym refers to an open educational system providing free access for a large number of registered participants to instructional materials disseminated by training institutions. This interactive, community-based learning form allowing the student to process the material at his or her own pace utilizes the individual’s thirst for knowledge along with an ability of independent learning. Accordingly the full range of the education process: “visiting” lectures, taking tests and examinations, and the awarding of the graduation certificate transpires on-line. While the popularity of MOOC programs is beyond doubt, the economic, psychological, and pedagogical impact of the scheme is yet to be explored. Consequently, the following questions need answers: • Does the training provide a graduation certificate respected by society and the business world? • What is the actual worth of the degree or certificate? • How is the program financed? • Why is it profitable for institutions to offer free courses? • What are ways of checking the acquired knowledge? etc.

The option of on demand access to any educational material at any time or location and the resulting promise of uninterrupted information exchange can eventually bring about a world order based on equality. I hope my presentation will contribute to making the learning process a motivating and engaging community experience of the future.
