5.1 HPC technológiák és alkalmazások a szuperszámítógépeken és clustereken

Az NIIF Intézetnél folyó, közel 15 éves HPC üzemeltetés során kapcsolatba kerültünk a legtöbb magyar szuperszámítógép felhasználóval. A mindennapi problémáikon keresztül ismertük meg a terület problémáit, nehézségeit. Ezek közül is kiemelkedett az adminisztráció bonyolultsága, a hatékony használathoz szükséges információ elérhetősége, valamint a nehézkes kommunikáció. A problémákkal egyszerre több fronton is harcba szálltunk.

Előadásom során az NIIF Intézet által, a TÁMOP-4.2.2.C-11/1/KONV-2012-0010 "Szuperszámítógép, a nemzeti virtuális laboratórium" projekt során kialakított HPC Portált, az önkiszolgáló, integrált felhasználótámogató rendszerünket szeretném bemutatni, egyszerre felhasználói- és fejlesztői szemszögből is. Az előadás során kitérnék a funkcionális szinten elért eredményekre ugyanúgy, mint az integrált rendszerekre és az ehhez felhasznált eszközökre, technológiákra.

Bemutatom azt az eszközt, ami reményeink szerint képes lesz egy absztraktnak tűnő, tudományos eszközt a mindennapok részévé tenni.

HPC Portal: Entrance to the world of the supercomputers

We, at the NIIF Institute, were contacted with most of the Hungarian Supercomputer users during the nearly 15 years of HPC operation. We were facing the issues and problems of this area via their everyday problems. The most significant ones were the complexity of the administration, the unavailability of the information necessary for the effective usage and the cumbersome communication. We started a fight against these issues simultaneously on several fronts.

During my presentation I'm going to introduce the HPC Portal, made by the NIIF Institute during the TÁMOP-4.2.2.C-11/1/KONV-2012-0010 "Supercomputer, the national virtual laboratory" EU co-founded project, as our self-service, integrated user support system. The approach of my presentation is going to be both user and developer oriented. During the demonstration I'm going to deal with new functions and possibilities made for our user, just like the integrated systems and technologies used for the development.

I'm presenting a tool, that is hopefully able to turn an abstract scientific instrument into an daily used equipment.
