3.4 Elektronikus könyvtárak, kiállítások, portálok, repozitóriumok

Az oktatástámogatás könyvtári eszközei napjainkban meglehetősen széles spektrumot kínálnak. Ezek közé tartozik a digitális repozitóriumok adta lehetőségek hasznosítása, tartalmi és módszertani szempontból egyaránt. Előadásom során szeretném bemutatni, hogy a repozitóriumok oktatásban történő alkalmazásával kapcsolatban milyen (esetlegesen téves) elképzelések élnek. Elsősorban azonban azokat az empirikus kutatásokon és szakirodalmi véleményeken alapuló kutatásaimat ismertetem, amelyek fontosak ahhoz, hogy ez a témakör ne csak a digitális szertár fogalmát merítse ki. A repozitóriumok manapság a gyakorlati oktatás fókuszába kerültek, de nem igazán tudjuk, hogyan használjuk ki a bennük rejlő lehetőségeket. Ennek megfejtése érdekében meg kell vizsgálni a digitális repozitóriumok létezése, működése és használata által felvetett kérdéseket. A téma három elem vizsgálatát teszi szükségessé: intézményi repozitóriumok; tematikus vagy tudományos repozitóriumok; tananyag-repozitóriumok. Jelen előadásban elsősorban a tananyag-repozitóriumok helyzetével, lehetőségeivel (részben problémáival) foglalkozok, elsősorban ezek publikálásának és aggregálásának vitatott kérdéseivel. A felsőfokú képzések (BA, MA, doktori iskolák) területén komoly problémát jelenthet, hogy egy repozitórium csak tárházként használható. A digitális repozitórium egyik fontos szerepe lehet, hogy lehetőséget ad a hallgatóknak a tanulási források és a tanulás mechanizmusának részben önálló szervezésére és egyfajta navigációs támogatásra. Mindezeket figyelembe véve a digitális repozitóriumok létrehozásának, működtetésének és használatának kiemelt jelentősége van a felsőoktatásban tanulók és oktatók számára, ahol ma már egyre inkább az oktatásban történő alkalmazás kerül előtérbe.

The role of digital repositories in supporting adaptive learning environments

Today libraries provide a wide variety of devices in support of teaching and learning including the content-based or methodological options of digital repositories. My presentation focuses on the perspectives and potential misconceptions related to the application of repositories in the education process. Relying on an overview of empirical research results along with utilizing the latest scholarly findings in the given field, I will show that the digital repository is more than just a physical storage for the collection of digitalised educational materials. While repositories have been considered a crucial component of the practical aspects of instruction, the respective inherent possibilities are yet to be fully utilised. Consequently, we have to explore issues related to the function, operation, and use of digital repositories. Therefore, I will focus on three types of repositories: institutional repositories, thematic or scientific repositories, and repositories containing educational materials. While shedding light at the potential difficulties of the educational application of digital repositories, my presentation mainly focuses on the position and options of such repositories with special emphasis on certain controversial aspects including publication and aggregation. Although in case of higher education programs involving BA, MA, and PhD training the function of digital repositories is limited to storing materials, such devices can promote a semi-independent arrangement of learning resources and learning mechanisms along with providing navigational support. All in all the implementation, operation, and use of digital repositories have special significance both for students and instructors in the higher education sphere prioritising the educational function of such devices.
