4.2 Elosztott információs rendszerek

Az EU Horizon 2020 keretprogramja részeként, széleskörű nemzetközi összefogásban megvalósuló kutatás-fejlesztési projekt, a Vi-SEEM célja az, hogy a résztvevők meglévő eInfrastruktúra elemeire és szolgáltatásaira alapozva egy virtuális kutatási platformot hozzon létre, amely a korszerű kutatási tevékenység IT igényeit a lehető legteljesebb mértékben ki tudja szolgálni. Bár a projekt eredményei általánosan használhatók lesznek, három konkrét kutatási terület (élettudomány, klíma kutatás és kulturális örökség feldolgozása) pilot jelleggel már a projekt kezdetétől fókuszban van. A projekt alapvetően a kelet- és dél-kelet európai régió sajátos kihívásaira és problémáira koncentrál. A magyar résztvevő jelentős szerepet vállal a projekt műszaki fejlesztéseiben, elsősorban az adattárolás tekintetében.

Vi-SEEM - virtual research infrastructure

The Vi-SEEM project is part of the Horizon 2020 frame program of the European Commission. It is an international research and development project, bringing together a broad range of participants, with the goal of creating a virtual research platform based upon the existing infrastructure ans service components of the stakeholders, which can efficiently serve the whole spectrum of IT needs of high quality research projects. Though the project aims to deliver general purpose results, three particular research areas (life sciences, climate research and the preservation of cultural heritage) are in the focus from the beginning. The primary geographical target of the project is the East- and South-East Europe and the East-Mediterranean region with their special challenges and problems to solve. The Hungarian consortium member of the project plays important role in the technological research and development, especially in the data storage area.
